Oslo Jazz Dance Festival
September 2020
During this year's Oslo Jazz Dance Festival, I had the pleasure of performing with two projects - one under the auspices of myself and Kasper Ravn Tovik, and one under the auspices of Radix Dance Crew.

The festival is organized by Natalie Dahl and Ingvild Vaagsether who founded the festival to make the diversity of
the jazz dance expression visible to the Norwegian public.

Radix performed with their latest production "Restrains", led by myself and Lisa Marie Lunden.

Restrains portrais the rules and expectations for behavior in society, and how the view of ones self can be influenced by these restrictions.
Bakken / Tovik's piece "Newton's Beat" is a artistic jazzdance performance inspired by jazz music.

The piece portrais and plays with the different foundations of jazz music and the use of these
in encounter with dance.

In both productions we've collaborated with musician Svenn Tore Sætrom who has composed his own music for each of the works.
