Performance for children

"Monsters come from Mo"

July 2017

In July 2017, Radix went to Kristiansand to share the art of dance with the smallest of audiences, the children. In collaboration with Sommer i Kilden we held a free dance show that suits children aged 2-9 years.

"In the performance you meet little Bob, or as his schoolmates call him; Bob the Bully. But he is also afraid. Afraid of a terrible creature that lives under his bed. A creature called human!"

The performance is based on a book written by myself amongst others, as a project in our literary class during our teachers education. The book takes place in a monster universe where everything is turned upside down. In this parallel universe, a world full of monsters, they are afraid of the mythical creature called human. During the story, the children are introduced to little Bob, his family, school life and his fear of humans.

The story itself is told by Silje Olava who reads from the book while the plot unravels itself on stage. This performance contains dance as it's primary art form as we want to make dance more accessible to children, and what better way to do this than by a story telling! At the end of the show, the audience is invited to learn a little monster dance from the dancers on stage.
